Beware the tyranny of people with good intentions.

Because they are armed with good intentions, we tend not to scrutinise their actions and decisions the same way that we do to those of whom we deem untrustworthy. That's a grave error. One's intent shouldn't matter. Just as the crooked weaken and eventually destroy institutions, people with good intentions often do too.

A good example is Eskom. We have known for some time, but now know more because of the Zondo Commission, of how Jacob Zuma and his cronies looted Eskom. The institution is today on its financial knees.
