If production conditions in Europe, the US, Brazil, and Argentina improve significantly in the near term, it may lead to an excessive supply of cheap imports into the country. This could be good news for consumers, but not so much for local farmers, writes Sifiso Ntombela. 

Despite the suspension of anti-dumping duties last year, chicken prices in local markets have been pushed upwards as the SA poultry industry battles rising costs of fuel and feed.
