Africa, on the whole, remains weak, with suppressed potential, thanks to its divided nature, says Solly Moeng. 

The annual Africa Day has become one of those celebrations (or is it a commemoration?) that increasingly seem like a trick question one would have to think very carefully about before responding to.

Either way one responds to it might come with an unpleasant sting. Put another way, if Africa were a person, one would be curious to know what it did in its previous life to deserve what it has been through in its current lifetime.
