Covid-19 has exposed the digital divide in South Africa's education system

The growing digital divide in the country leaves most pupils unable to participate in virtual learning scenarios or benefit from advances in education that will prepare them for life in the real world, says Kathryn Garden. 

Back in 2011, the South African government published its National Development Plan (NDP) which aims to eliminate poverty and reduce inequality by 2030 by using education as a cornerstone.
