BEGINNER
I would like to start playing golf only for fun. I never played before and would like to know where do I start. Must I first visit the driving range. What are the costs involved for getting equipment for a fist time player.

The best normally when you are starting is to get a basic set. You get a combo set (Irons, woods, Putter and Bag) from R1000 to R3000 (depends on your budget)
Once you have the set, go to the driving range and practice until you can hit the ball every time more or less where you would like it to go.
A few lessons from a Pro at a driving range or golf course near you will also be important.
