Cheating on scores.
I play off a 22 and score accordingly that if on strokes 1-4 I shoot a 7 on a par 4 I get a point, which is of course correct.

I spoke to another person who said that if its not a competition, you only score 2 above each hole so on strokes 1-4 (for me on a 22) you will always ring on 6 and not take a 7 for 1, surely this is cheating because if you ring the stroke holes on 6 (if they par 4's) instead of putting 7 for 1 or 7 ring you are saving six shots a game and thus not a true golf handicap.

The way he is playing is off and 18, but he is not.

One of the reason that they brought this into effect was to speed up play, as if the gross score is calculated every hole, it would take over 6 hours a round.

Have a look at our website - or logon at and go to Golf Courses and look at Handicap Calculation

Hope this helps
