frozen shoulder
my mom has been suffering from what the doctors call " frozen shoulder"  for the past couple of months. she has gone for a few injections to relieve the pain but no success. she can hardly lift her arm. the pain is so severe she can hardly get a night' s sleep. the doctors prescribed pain tablets (the ones cancer patients use) because of the severity of the pain, but besides that they say there' s nothing they can do. according to the doctors it will take about 2 yrs for the shoulder to go back to normal. is there any advise or anything she can use to alleviate the pain.

Hello Inshaaf,

Keep well hydrated to promote healing.
Minimise stimulants such as caffiene as this will interfere with healing.
Aloe vera juice is helpful for inflammation.
Bilberry contains flavinoids that reduce inflammation.
Cats claw is good for inflammation and healing.
Cayenne, curcumin, devils claw, echinacea, ginger, goldenseal, red clover, white willow bark and yucca are all good for inflammation.

Consume half of a fresh pieapple or fresh papaya daily. Pineapple contains bromelain and papaya contains papain, both enzymes that reduce swelling and inflammation. Only fresh pineapple or papaya(not canned) is effective.

Eat foods high in flavinoids, which are powerful antioxidants and useful for inflammation reduction. Spinach and blueberries are excellant sources of flavinoids. Strawberries contain smaller amounts. Quercetin, found in onions is good for infammation as well.

Having spent time at an osteopathic frozen shoulder clinic in london I recommend this as a very helpful treatment. For more information on osteopathy visit
