Muscle burning in lower legs
About 3 weeks ago I started walking to loose weight - I walk an average of 2.5km a evening. Over the last week or so I have been experiencing a terrible burning sensation in my lower calves - the pain is not the same as a "good workout pain" ir begins within five minutes of the walk. What could the cause be?

Hi Colleen
Firstly well done that you are talking a positive action to improve your health.

The burning is from the calves and a muscle called the tibialis anterior. First you need to stretch your calves - both with the knee bent, and with it straight.

Second try this reflex: from your belly button go out 2cm and up 2cm both sides - rub for 30 seconds - that area that feels very uncomfortable is what we are targeting - it should release the calves and take the burning away.

For at least a week try to avoid hills
