old sports injurie
Hey is it possible for a 7year old sports injury to re occur?
I hurt my shoulder long ago in a ball game, but i dont think it waws broken cause no bruising just very painfull deep deep inside....especialy when i use the muscle......i started golf now, and i cold bearly move my shoulder, because i keep on hitting the ground (fresh beginner haha).
I know its that same pain? What can i do, xray wont help?

It all depends on the initial injury. A couple of possibilities:

If a bone was broken in the initial injury, then one could develop arthritis after that, which can show up a few years later. In those cases, an Xray would show arthritis up and it can be treated accordingly.

More likely is something called rotator cuff syndrome. This is where the muscles and tendons around the top of the humerus (upper arm bone) are out of balance with each other and cause swelling and inflammation. Treatments include non steroidal anti inflammatories, ultrasound and even injections of corticosteroids into the joint to decrease inflammation.

Once the swelling and pain has settled, it's important to see if there was an imbalance of muscles (one pulling stronger thsan another) and correct that.
