Skin graft on cheek
Hi Doctor

I have had facial surgery where skin was grafted from my wrist to my cheek, the colouring is not matching. This was done about one month ago, will it eventually match, and if not, what can I do please. Also what can I use along with Vit E to fade out the stich scars?

Thank you for your service we have on line.

Dear Daisy,

The colour difference can take up to 6 months to disappear. The most important things to do is to stay out of the sun, apply appropriate total sunblock, even if you are mostly indoors. Massage the area for at least 10 minutes 3 times a day. Appropriate wound taping is also possible, by using scar reduction plasters, for instance, to support the sensitive skin around the scar line.
