Dear Doc, I really hope you can give me some advice. I've been struggling with acne since age 16. I've been on several circuits of medicine, tropical creams, and finally Acnetane. The Acnetane has really helped, and after 2 sets of 8 months I thought my skin was fine, only for it to start again.

I've just completed the 3 dosage and now my dermatologist said that I can't go back on it for a while. But certainly there must be something that can help me. I've used neo medrol, panoxyl 10% diffirin gel etc. Acnetane is the only thing that works..

I'm a 21 year old male, diabetic type 2 and I have a very stressful career. Any advice?
Thank you

Treatment of acne will depend on the degree of involvement. For mild acne-Adapalene/RetinA and Benzac5. For moderate acne-add Minomycin/Tetralysal and/or Diane35. For severe acne-Roaccutane. For acne recurring after retinoid treatment low dose or pulse dose retinoid may help. Keep this in mind-if a remission is obtained in acne there must always be MAINTENANCE treatment. In this way the duration of the remission will be prolonged. Please stop the NeoMedrol. It contains cortisone.
