Fusion of spinal vertibrae
I have had neck pain and am getting treatment, however after an xray was taken the practitioner has showed me a faint white line running from the front edge on one vertibrae to the adjacent front edge on the next across the disc edge. He has told me that this is the start of the two vertibrae trying to fuse together due to a possible injury or accident. My question, is this possible? I have heard of fusing vertibrae through operations but not the body trying to do it.
With restriction in normal vertebral movement, "natural" fusions or "calcifications" can indeed occur.
