Heart rate
Hi I need to find out more with regard to fitness heart rate, for my age (48 female), according to the table, between 54 - 60 resting heart rate is athlete, and that's my goal. Now during the week when I train at the gym my resting heart rate is between 58 - 60, normally I don't gym on a Friday and for some reason my heart rate goes up, then I even changed so that I gym on Fridays as well, but still it goes up, I do on Saturday mornings the Parkrun, and truly by Saturday mornings my heart rate goes to 63, sometimes 64. Why is that and what can I do to change it?
Hi Zelna
Your resting heart rate of 63/64 on the days that you dont exercise is absolutely perfect and I think it might come down over time, the more fit your become. I really do think that you dont have to do anything else, you seem to be very fit and I there is no point in trying to get your heart rate lower, as long as you are healthy and looking after yourself. But, as I said, it might become lower over time the more fit you become.
