Allergies due to kitten
My husband brought home a kitten this week. He is the most adorable creature, but I think I may be have some allergic reactions due to him. I have been sneezing a lot, terribly blocked up & even my throat is terribly painful. It is painful, but not like a sore throat, more like my throat is being squeezed. I have been taking sinutab.
Can this be overcome or do I have to give the kitten away. That would be terribly sad, cos my 3 yr old adores it.
Besides the usual hygiene measures, such as washing hands, should we be doing anything else? Is there anything that we can catch from the kitten/cats?

Dear Lorri
Thank you for visiting health24.com.
I recommend that you use a good anti-histamine, i.e. Lorano or Celestamine etc. Please stop using the Sinutab, for it is only to be used for a short period of time (no longer than 10 days).
Other hygiene measures that should be taken to prevent you from catching any diseases from your kitten, will be to treat your cat with Spot on for fleas every four weeks and to deworm him, every 6 months.
Kind regards
