Allergy or the heat?
Hi Doc. I have recently developed a problem, whereby my lips, especially the bottom one, swells immensley. This has happend on two occassions. Both times I had tuna the night before but it was also extremely hot. The second time, however, my throat on the right side, felt swollen as well. Is there a blood test I can have done that will determine if it is the tuna, as I have eaten this for many years. Why would I suddenly become allergic now? Many thanks!
Hi Melbalina,
It is usually the iodene in seafood that causes allergies and it can be tested. Ask your GP to do blood test or organize a skin test.
