Bad taste in mouth
Hi Doc,
I am asking for my sister who complains all the time of a bitter metal taste in her mouth. This has been for about a month now and is most annoying as she cannot taste her food properly or enjoy it! It is worse after certain foods or drinks esp. tea. Could this be teeth problem or is it sinuses as someone suggested?
What do you think?
Many thanks

Dear Mosey
This can be caused by:
Medications such as some antibiotics, prenatal vitamins and antidepressants, as well as drugs used to treat high blood pressure, rheumatoid arthritis and kidney stones
Oral infections such as gingivitis or periodontitis, tooth infections
Sinusitis with post nasal drip
Gastritis or heartburn
It may be best to let her GP have a look to see if you can identify the cause.
