Bladder Infection + IBS
I suffer with bladder infections quite a bit and I' d like to know what I can take for it. At the moment I take Citro soda when I get it and I try to drink cranberry juice when I can. I' d like to know what I can take besides these i.e. tablets etc. when I do have it.
I' d also like to find out the possible causes from getting it so often.

Also I have mild IBS and there are times when I wont " visit the toilet"  for a few days. Is there anything that I can take for this? I dont want to be dependent on something in order to have bowel movements but I' d like to know what else I can take i.e tablets etc.
What else can I do to regulate my bowel movements except for the obvious of eating " bran foods" .

Thanks for your help.

Dear Astar
You can try Movicol or Lactulose to help your bowels - it is not harmful to the bowel - you should take it regularly, say every 2nd or 3 rd day.
If you get more than 3 urine tract infections per year you should see an urologist - often there is an anatomical problem - stones in bladder or kidney, bladder prolapse, narrowing of the urinary tract somewhere, or reflux. They should do some tests to see where the problem lies and correct the cause.
