CMV virus
I was recently diagnosed, after a blood test, with having the CMV virus. Is there any treatment for this? I get cold/flu symptoms with fatigue about once a month lasting for a couple of days at a time. Is it safe to exercise?
Dear Peta,
There is no specific treatment for this (like an antiviral drug). You can exercise but not vigourously - and not when you have sore muscles. Some viruses tend to give you "yuppy flu" or fibromialgia symptoms - which can be treated with supportive medication. Try using an immunebooster like Moducare or Viral choice C, magnesium supplements, low dose antidepressants ( children's dose e.g. 10 mg Tryptanol at night ) may help for the tiredness.
