dizzy - off balance
Hi, I am a 47yr old woman with 3 children. I had a dizzy attack this morning and while walking I could not control the direction in which I was walking. I kept on going to the side even though I wanted to go forward. It only happened for a few seconds, but was quite frightening. I have low blood pressure. Could this be the cause?

Dear concerned
It could be low BP but at this age one should be absolutely sure that it was not a TIA - transient ischemic attack, warning you that you may be at risk for a stroke. Rather let your doctor have a look and just see if all is OK ( cholesterol, pulses, ECG etc) or if you need preventative medication. Start taking 1/2 a disprin per day if you are not allergic to it.
