Dry mouth
Hi doc
I just had a bad case of the stomach bug (lasted 4 days). I am feeling a bit weak but otherwise fine. I am experiencing quite a lot of thirst and my tongue is quite dry. When I eat slightly acidic or sour things, my tongue starts burning on the sides. What could cause this? I really hydrated myself while sick - drinking nearly 3.5L of mixed fluids.
Thanks

Dear Nicky
You could have lost a lot of salts like potassium and natrium. Try using a sport drink with electrolytes or Re-hydrat (at chemists) to put some back. The burning tongue could be because of vomiting or just because your tongue is sensitive after the illness.
