Enlarged heart<br>Enlarged heart
I had chest x-rays taken as a routine medical check-up. The results reads as follows: heart is enlarged in its transverse diameter and has a left ventricular appearance. There is a slight cardiomegaly present. Need I worry or is this due to cycling +- 300km a week. I am a 41 year old male.

Cyclist, it all depends on what your cardio-thoracic index is. Your heart’s diameter shouldn’t be more than 55% of the chest diameter. The best would be to see a cardiologist and make sure. Good luck.
