Epidydimitis. Will I be ok?
Hi Doc

For the last 2 weeks I've experiened pain in the region of my left testicle. Lately the pain spread from my groin area to my hip, also on the left side. My doctor checked for lumps and bumps and found nothing. He also said it is not a hernia. But when he pressed down on the epididymis it hurt. He diagnosed me with epididymitis and has put me on on one Tavanic 250mg/day for 10 days.
1. Will this be completely curable, or will I have repeat infections in the future?
2. I am 39 years old and have not been sexually active for over 3 months, so if it is not caused by an STD, how did I get it?
3. Can I infect someone if I do decide to have sex in the future?

Dear Dino

Thank you for visiting

Tavanic would be sufficient to treat the bacterial infection that you have contracted. There is no specific reason for you to contracted the disease and you might have a non-sexually transmitted Epididymitis. There is a possibility that you can transmit the disease if you become sexually active.
