experiencing frequent body cramps
I have been getting a lot of cramps in different areas of my body it seems to be getting worse and worse I keep taking Cramp Stop tablets but I would like to know what may be causing these cramps. I am 42 years old and Over weight and battling to loose the excess weight - can this be one of the reasons? Your assistance is appreciated. Many thanks Sharon

Cramps can be caused by electrolyte disturbances (due to medication, liver or kidney disease) or overexertion of muscles or even conditions like thyroid hormone abnormalities or vitamin shortages. You can ask your doctor to do a UKE blood test to see whether you have electrolyte abnormalities. Stretching the affected muscle usually helps.
