Faulty finger repair!
Hi. Twelve years ago while competing in a cycle race I crashed and broke my ring finger. I was taken to the Joburg Gen hospital, and was rushed into surgery to have my finger "K-wired"...I spent 6weeks with it heavily bandaged, and after the 2pins were removed I was told all would be fine. I went to physio, but they refused to treat it because the finger was not properly set. It was impossible to get a follow up with the surgeon (Dr Kahn?!) and I have subsequently not been able to move my finger ever since. The muscle's have shrunk over time and it appears withered and unsightly. I am contemplating getting married in the near future, and would love to have a working Ring finger again!! Do you think a surgery would be able to help me regain the use of this finger, or have I left it too long? I realise it is impossible to assertain the situation via email, but any advice is welcome!! (even just a push in the right direction!)

Dear Bike Boy
I think at least a consultation with a specialist in hand surgery will be worth while. Dr Ulrich Mennen is such an expert
