Fits while sleeping
Hi Doc
I posted a question about this 7 Jan 2003. I woke up about 2 months after that, once more with a bitten tongue, killer headache & sore body, then went to see a neurologist when I woke up on the floor again a week ago. Had an EEG an CT visible causes (lesions/tumour/etc), but he diagnosed it as fits/convulsions and I'm on medication for epilepsy. It came as quite a shock and I'm still coming to terms with it...I thought it was either something kids grew up with or adults got from a brain tumour or something.

Peaches, epilepsy is something that can start in adults, but the question always is; why? The fact that the EEG and CT scan are normal means that it’s probably nothing too serious, but then again why the need for continuous treatment? I’m sorry, but I can’t really give you answers without being able to see you first, so maybe the best thing would be to se a different neurologist for a second opinion. Good luck.
