fungus
hi doc. I've got a skin fungus widely spread on my front and back. I went to doctor about it and he told me to use Niz shampoo 3times a week. I should apply it to wet body at night and then go to sleep with it and rinse it off the next morning. However, he forgot to mention for how long i should continue this (a month? until the bottle is up?). Also i read in previous posting that some guy got burns in his neck. how can i avoid it and will this burns go away (however i do not have it on my neck). Then also, should i apply it to my entire body or only the infected area? how long before the spots will go away? I also read in previous posting that guy had very dry skin. so can i apply lotion after and between application of shampoo or should i leave it as dryness is part of the process.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Dear Tim,
Usually you should use this for about 6 weeks, even longer if you still have symptoms. Be careful not to go into the sun for long without sunscreen to prevent burns. You can only apply it to the affected area. These type of skin infections can be quite persistent but should clear in about 2 months otherwise you may need to see a dermatologist. You may apply lotions after washing it off in the morning. Try bathing with something like a anti- dandruff shampoo instead of soap on the days between it may also help to clear it up quicker ( like Gill)
