heart palpitations
My mom is 47 ans she get these heart palpitations. They usually occur at night and even sometimes wake her up. Her heart just starts beating very fast. They last for for about 10 minutes. If she takes an urbanol then they go away and her heartrate returns to normal. She is often very tired afterwards. She has no history of heart disease except these palpitation which she has had 2-3 times a month for the last 2 years or so. She says she does not experience any pain with these.
What can be the cause ? She has been to the doctor once about a year ago but they found nothing amis except for a small irregularity in the beat which was not even serious enough to prescribe treatment for.

B, it might all be due to anxiety (that would explain why the Urbanol®, a “stress pill”, works), but there might be a problem with her heart too. The best would be to have her see a cardiologist just to make sure. Good luck.
