HIV Aids
Just a question that I have been wondering about for some time. I think we all know how higly infectious / contageous HIV is and the importance of safe sex. However I would like to know percentage wise what is the chance that you will get HIV if you have unprotected sex with an infected person. The normal answer you get is there is a good likliehood (but how likely, i.e. 1%, 10%, 20%, 100%). I cannot ever remember this question ever being raised even though the a great deal of information does exist about HIV AIDS and its effects on the country.

Dear Georg
It differs depending if you live in a population that has a high infection rate, whether your partners have STD infections, and if you have a healthy body or is undernourished etc. Between 25 - 40 % in the general population - but if you live in a high risk area or have sex with high risk people like prostitutes - it may be higher for you.
