HIV infection??????
Hi Doc
I went for a cholestrol test this past week at a fitness center, they used a digital cholestrol reader. My finger was pricked and a drop of blood was used. It never occured to me to ask if the needle had been changed. What are the chances that I could be infected if this same needle was used on someone with HIV a few minutes before me? How long does the virus survive outside the body?
Please help I am very anxious

Worried, it is a theoretical possibility, but don’t worry – they will have used a clean needle. Good luck.
