hyperhidrosis after sympathectomy
A year ago I’d had enough of armpit sweat puddles & consulted my gp who suggested I first try Mitchum. I laughed but gave it a go anyway. All it did was make the stains in my clothing more stubborn. So I had a sympathectomy even though the surgeon warned me about possible compensatory sweating. I felt much better & more confident. Now, I have a problem with that compensatory bit. I drive everywhere with a towel in the car & I can’t buy just any clothes to wear – they have to “hide” moisture as far as possible. While the sweating under my arms has decreased, I now sweat (not perspire!) on my chest, stomach, lower and upper back. It’s very distressing which makes it worse & I’ll even go as far as saying debilitating. I dread going outdoors on a warm to hot day but I can’t stay indoors all day! I’m not overweight, I eat well, drink plenty water, exercise regularly & am desperate to find a solution.
