Immodium
Cyber-Doctor, would it be safe to take Immodium on the day of a long flight overseas, even if one has chronic constipation? I cannot get to the airplane toilets on my own, and I doubt two people can fit in there!

Hi Elly
No, rather keep to clear fluids ( fruitjuice and clear soup) and jelly for the 24 hour period before you fly and give yourself an enema the evening before as this will cause the colon to be fairly empty. Alternative is to put in a Dulcolax suppositry in the previous evening to ensure that your tummy works before you get on to the airplane.
