Lower back pain
Hi Doc
In the last few months I have been experiencing back pain when I wake up. I have not changed the mattress as I have never experienced any problems. The pain is in my lower back when i lie down for prolong periods. It does go away during the day. Could this be serious and which specialist is the best to see in this regard?

Hi Anxious
Let your GP first have a look - you may only need physiotherapy/back strengthening exercises. Most low back pain is mechanical - i.e. to do with posture or muscle spasm.
