Medication
I've been seeing a psychiatrist for a month now but she is hesitant to make a diagonoses. I first saw a GP who felt that I'm somewhere between bipolar and depression. I was always prone to mood swings and thought its just part of life but after a recent bout decided that something had to be done. I usually go through a very low phase a few times a year and since I'm in a stressful job, it seems to have increased! I'm currently on espiride just to help me relax but I'm a bit worried about the medication as I'm sleeping as much as 10 hours a night!! is this normal. Has anyone else been on this medication? I was also on alzam.
Hallo Vee
Espiride is well known and can make one sleepy - if this interferes with your daytime functionality you should tell the doctor so that she can try something less sedating for you. Alzam is used for anxiety and should not be used longterm as it can cause dependency. She may be waiting to see what a therapeutic trial of medication is doing to your symptoms to make a clearer diagnosis.
And by the way, a star to you for seeking medical help when you realized that you were feeling under the weather !
