painful knee
i keep getting such a pain in my left knee, it becomes really sore to walk and exercise. its has been like this for 7 years now. 7 years earlier i had it x-rayed but nothing showed up and i was told it was just growing pains. im now 22 and the pain is still here! when i exercise it goes down to my ankles and swells. i have tried anti inflamitries but they dont seem to work, they will help for about three hours then the pain is back. some days its fine, then others its back and really sore. at the beginning of the week i found gym quite difficult as my ankle and knee were quite sore. my foot and ankle were very swolen. its now friday and the pain is still there and goes up to my knee. what can i do about all this? surely an anti inflamintary would help? and if there was a problem would it not have shown up on the x-ray all those years ago?

HI Tamara
You can't see everything on an x/ray - you could have a meniscus problem, a Bakers cyst, a nerve entrapment. I think you should ask your GP to refer you to an orthopedic surgeon for evaluation.
