dear Doc,

My brother had a stroke last week Thursday.
What does it mean if the prognoses is hypodense areas in basal?
And what is Ganglia Bilat

The dr treating my brother does not explain these medical terms to us.

Thank you for your assistance!

Dear AP
Hypodense just means that the area looks like a fluid filled area - so may be signs of bleeding or injured tissue. The basal ganglia is in the neurological areas in the brain that organize movement in the body and injury to this can cause tremors and being off balance or weak in one side.
You have to ask the doctor to spend some time to discuss the prognosis with you - won't take long.
