a month ago while driving to Vereeniging, my tailbone started hurting like hell. I didn't fall or anything. It started aching while we drove. A few weeks later it still hurt and I phoned a doctor who gave me a prescribsion for Coxflam. It worked a little. It's now a month later, and the pain is still there. When I sit it hurts a little bit ,its when I stand up when a sharp shooting pain occurs. It even hurts when I urinate. Please can you maybe help me???

Dear NFB
You may have inflammation in the joint of the coccix or tailbone - you will probably be able to see with an x/ray - ask your GP to examine the area and give you a course of cortisone tablets if needed?
Other diagnoses could be prostate infection ( if you are male), or a nerve in the pelvis pinching between 2 muscles or in the lower back between the vertebrae.
