Test Results ??
Dear Doc
Please would you give me your opinion on something: I've had blood tests done cause I'm always tired etc etc. The blood test came back and said that i'm anaemic, doc gave me vitamins etc,but I returned to my GP cause I wasn't feeling any better,he repeated the blood tests, this time my iron levels were up he says it was 22 but my haemaglobin was still low,and he can't understand why. So he's given me more vitamins to take and suggested I go back in a few weeks time to check the haemaglobin levels again. I would just like to know, would you say that there is an underlying problem, like maybe cancer or something?? I'm a 28 yr old female.

Thank you doc

LPN, it will take the bone marrow a while to respond to the increased iron, so repeating the full blood count in two weeks time should give a better result. If it doesn’t, the best would be to see a specialist physician because then there is more going on than iron deficiency. Good luck.
