Thyroid Mystery!
hi there cyberdoc!

I have an important question to ask you!

i have all or at least most of the symptoms relating to an underactive thyroid, mainly that of unxplained weight gain and inability to lose weight despite visiting a whole range of dienticians nutritionists and following balanced plans for a persiod of a few years etc. i also have the absolute fatigue, heavy period, forgetfullness, cold intolerance, sluggishness, bloatedness, cold feet and hands, constipation and absolute depression and even a very orangy colour to my palms and feet.

after doing some research on this topic I have been monitering my temperature and i see that it is around the 36degree mark. My problem is that i have had my thyroid tested three times, (thats all the tests.. TSH T3 T4 etc) and they come back with perfectly normal results!! I dont belive that it is possible that my thyroid is in perfect condition, as i know i have all the symptoms. How would i get a test done that is more sensitive, and perhaps more likely to detect my condition, i have read up that it is common that thyroid dysfunction is not always detected in a thyroid test, and that i should see a HORMONE SPECIALIST? is this correct, coz i cannot seem to find one....
and could you give me somemore info with regards to my condition?
Thank You

Hallo Tamsin
You should see an Endocrinologist
Look on for one near you. It may be something else like cortisone levels or your pituitary gland not functioning correctly
