White Blood Cell Count
Hi Doctor,
My White blood cell count is a bit high from my last blood test. I understand that it is from a previous infection. I have cystitis, but the UTI is under control.
1. Is it true that I will have a high white blood cell count if I still have cystitis, or could it be related to another infection?
2. How long would the cystitis take to heal if I prevent any further infections?
They have tested me for all sorts of stuff, hormones, thiroid and UTI, but it all was normal. My B12 count is out of range though. Don't know what that means either. I also have difficult breathing and upper back pain.
Hope you can help me.
Thanks

Dear Gail
The high WCC can be due to the cystitis. Cystitis can be difficult to predict - it can linger for quite a while or clear up within a week or two. If your B12 count is low, you can take B12 supplements. It is unlikely to be extremely high as your body usually washes out excess water soluble vitamins.
