Yes, I have also heard of some nasty side-effects from using Champix, even with people without the aded potential risk factor of an illness like bipolar and its treatment, as drug inerations uld need to be considered. Maybe discuss this with your treating doc to consider your diagnosis and drug treatments.  I'd think non-drug methods like the book mentioned, about which I have heard some good things, and possible CBT style counselling, should be seriously considered.
