I am Bulimic for the last 14 years, was on medication, went to see phychologists, and am so frustrated because I cannot kick the habit. I try not to go anywhere just so that I do not get the urge, and when I am at functions, I just cannot resist. I know that one can probably kill yourself with this disease. What advice does anyone have for me. I am truly desperate.

Dear Jack,
Don't get too disheartened. Habits are hard to kick, otherwise we wouldn't even bother to call them habits ! It sounds as if you had treatment previously, but as if you are not presently under treatment with anyone ? Surely it makes good sense either to go back to the doctors who were treating you before ( if you got on well with them, and if treatment was reasonably successful ) or to see a fresh team, a new psychiatrist, and try a new view of the condition and a new range of treatment, to work towards getting this habit licked. It's not easy, but it is possible, and it is worth it.
