Im turning 35 in 6 weeks time. I always said to myself, that if I havent had a baby by 35, then I wont have one. The problem now is that I want a baby and there is no man close to me marrying. This might take a few years to accommplish.

The thing is, I have this "friend" and I am thinking of asking him if he will father my child. No strings attached, and he wont have to support me financially. IVF costs R20 000.00 one shot and it is not guaranteed. This will be for free.

Any advice?

Remember, nothing is for mahala. And especially in potentially fraught issues of paternity / materinty. nothing comes with no strings attached. Maybe a lawyer could draw up a watertight contract, maybe not. And are you confident that your friend ywould agree, and not feel at risk if he went ahead ? If this guy is a nice enough man to think of as father to your child --- wouldn't he want continuing access to the child ? How would you feel about that ? Not only now, but in 10 years time ?
