Effects of sexual abuse
my partner told me he was sexually abused as a child.

what are the effects of this in later life?

do children who are sexually abused become promiscuous adults? does their childhood experiences encourage them to look at porn? obviously that can't be the only reason why people look at porn, but is there any way it be a contributing factor.

The effects of sexual abuse as a child vary very widely --- from none at all, to significant problems, which may, in SOME people, include a degree of promiscuity, having been encouraged to view themselves as valuable only in a sexual role. I have seen no evidence that it is related to an interest in porn ( and I'm sure that the incidence of interest in porn is far greater than that of child abuse ). So, if indeed your partner was sexually abused as a child, that may be irrelevent or very relevant to how he livesd his life. If he is troubled by it, he should see a good local counsellor, preferably of the CBT-style, and work through whatever effects it has had on his behaviour and choices.
