Find my mate?
Has any of you seen the advert that claims to be able to trace someone's whereabouts by means of smsing the car registration to I think it was 40441? The sms costs R20 apparently and if you send an incorrect registration, you still get charched. My hubby and I was wathing TV the other day and it came on and we were debating whether this was just some money making hoax or if it was real and how on earth would they be able to trace someone this way. Has anyone else seen it?
Sounds deeply dodgy, and a serious invasion of people's privacy, probably criminally so, if it works ; and more probably a rip-off. You may buy a tracker system so YOU can trace the whereabouts of your car, but not so as to allow anyone being nosy, to check up on you. And anyhow, they could only say where your car was parked, not where you were
