Follow-up to Question 11840
Hi again Doc. Many thanks for your advice to the above question number. Would you mind explaining what a Depressive personality is and the symptoms please? My other question is: my parents are suggesting my brother return home to receive counselling. My gut tells me this isn't a good idea - that it might make things worse, as he doesn't get on with my father at all. What do you think? How do I manage to get him to go for counselling here then? Thanks so much!
Sorry, but I really don't have the time to go into long definitions of terms that can be easily researched by googling thm. Some of us have a cheerful personality, and are skilled at seeing the brighter side of life ; others have a Depressive personality, and are very skilled at finding the gloomy side of life, and seem to believe that every silver lining has a cloud.
Obviously at this distance I don;t know where he might best be placed. But if you think he'd not be so happy at home and closer to his dad, maybe discuss this with him, and suggest that seeing a good counsellor locally while with you, might be a compromise to try if he isn't keen to go home just yet
