Hello all!
All the best for 2006!

Shrinky hope the ache's and pain's are betta?

Gordon's Bay and the holiday was great!
G's daughter (7) was a star. Without her (ok and the wine farms in Stellenbosch) I'd never have made this holiday. She helped Ne like you will never believed. If there was a step (which Ne never sees and then falls) she's shout "trappie" eventually Ne was telling the younger kids "trappie" after she had gotten up the stair. She bather with her they ate together and when I took a nap and Ne wanted to come to the room she's day "jou ma slaap" and she'd steer her away!

Ne swam in the sea - fell over - laughed got up and went again - she was a bit unstable on the sand but I learnt to just hold her steady by her elbow. She loved the "water" every day she wanted to go to the "water"

What a surprise even the 14hours of driving there and then also back was a breeze....just shows you, hey?

I got a phone call from a speach therapist after waiting 6 months for an opening and we went Monday, MAN SHE'S TO NICE. A real little liewe-jesus-ng-kerk-tannie but Ne took to her and where it takes Ne 3 or 4 visits before she talks to a stranger she spoke a little on the first day. Ne can blow and suck and kiss and and and all that's needed to be able to talk properly according to this lady - SO THERE IS LOTS OF HOPE! she said it will take a while but we'll get there...and the best of all? R100.30 for 3/4 or an hour! Where do you still see that price ?!?!?!? There must be a guardian angle looking down somewhere!

There are things that one does not realize you are doing like when Ne consentrate's she doesnt swallow and the spit drools down....a common cp thing...then i say "swallow your spit" she therapist said no that's not nice just put your finger under her chin and say it eventually she'll learn when you put your finger there she must swallow and you won't be imbarresing her...ietsie so kleins maar tog so belangrik!

Well hope you are all well and as Julizen there's a feeling that 2006 is gonna be a great year!

Hello again, CP Mom,
YOur return has been awaited by many. The aches and pains in the arm are getting better ; but replaced by severe arthritis and pain in the left knee and thighs, apparently a delayed effect of other injuries in the accident. Ah well.
How nice to hear how well you all managed, especially Ne and the new star, G's daughter. And the new speech therapist sounds outstanding ! Sounds like the start of a year to look forward to.
