next step
I have been going out with my b/f for 9 months. I am 35 and he is almost 40. I don't have time on my side and would like to get married and have a family. I think after 9 months you should know if this is the person you would like to settle down with. I think he could be the one, but how do you talk about this issue, without him running a mile? Both himself and I have lived with somebody in our past, which turned out disasterous, so I really don't want to move in with him. Do you think it is too soon to talk about things like this? What would the next step be, seen that moving in together is out. Please help.

If he runs a mile when you calmly talk about this as a possibility, and seeking his views, then he's obviously not going to be the one you will settle down with. And if you for any reason don't want to move in with him, are you sure you would want to marry him ?
