Panic attacks or just faint??
Hi. I'm not sure if I had a panic attack. I got very lightheaded, went white in the face, started sucking in as much air as possible, my heart started racing and things just went black around me until I sat down for a while. An hour later I threw up. I was in a crowed place and was diagnosed before as having social phobia. I've been in much worse crowds before though without the same thing happening. Is it possible I was just faint or was it a panic attack. I didn't feel scared or claustrophic at the time.

Sounds like it might have been a panic attack, but sounds more like a "faint", and may not happen again. As Buffs says, when you get anxious for any reason, maybe just because you're feeling faint, you may sart to overbreathe ( which is what you seem to describe ) --- and that shifts the cemical balance of your blood, and makes you feel much worse. Low blood sugar could easily be part of the problem. If you skip a main meal while shopping, eg. Maybe save a few of those paper tubes or packets of sugar from a restaurant and keep them in your bag. If you really can't avoid missing a meal, or find you've done so without meaning to, sit down and take a couple of bags of sugar and let them dissolve in your mouth. And then get a snack.
