PRAAT jou eie taal! Hoekom dan nie?
Hi mense.

Its an interesting question, actually, Clueless. I once did research in this field, and produced a heavy book "Psycholinguistics in CLinical practice" (!) but one of the things we found was that while it is easier for people to speak emotionally in their mother language, it could be more useful in terms of problem solving, to work in their second language, in which they could find it easier to be logical and sensible, exactly because the words were not so emotionally resonant !
And of course we also have many readers whose home language is one of the black languages, or Portuguese, or whatever, and couldn't handle if everyone posted in their own language. And posts in sign-language or Farsi would be hard to process. And as Jakes says, some of us have learned to read Dude-speak.
So lets see what works best for most people
