Teenager - hormones or something serious?
Hi CS,

Mmy son just turned 16 and it seems that he is going through mood swings? I am hoping this is nothing serious ....

He fights terribly with his younger brother (13) and his moods swing from extremely happy to extremely sad / angry faster than I can keep track of. Even to the extent where he does not want to do anything (even play playstation or wathc TV or even eat) - and is lethargic and negative, to extremely upbeat again?

Any advise - is this normal? Or could it be something like manic depressive behaviour?

Sounds horribly like a normal teenage boy, with a bad case of the normals. But there's a small cance of something more, and a larger chance that drugs could be playing a role --- maybe discuss this with your GP, and have him get a checkup including an unexpected drug screen ?
